Joan Allen is a conflicted Irish-American scientist locked in a marriage to Sam Neill that is driving her crazy. Starting an affair with a Lebanese surgeon (Simon Abkarian) exiled in London does not help in the way she’s hoping it does. Their passion takes them through several countries and in the course of that travel, forces them to reexamine their personal beliefs and what they think of each other.
