Roger (Jon Heder) is a meter maid in New York and he can’t even keep a volunteer gig as a "Big Brother." The kids all reject him. He is in love with Amanda (Jacinda Barrett), a neighbor in his apartment building, but he faints when he tries to ask her out. A friend recommends that Roger try a class on becoming an alpha male, being taught at The Learning Annex (every big city has one) by Dr. P (Billy Bob Thornton). The tuition is $5,000¾ cash only in an unmarked envelope¾ to be delivered on the first night of class. The sessions are so brief that Dr. P. and his assistant Lesher (Michael Clarke Duncan) probably slip into an empty classroom. We disliked the feminization of Duncan’s character Lesher (complete with blonde wig) and the references that he raped guys. Also, the clear dislike of women by Dr. P. is apparent. The movie is homophobic and homo-horrific. Todd Phillips directed "Old School," and Jon Heder starred in "Napoleon Dynamite," so it’s clear where this picture is aimed¾ below the belt.
