The director of "Whale Rider," Niki Caro, turns her attention once again to women in a male dominated society. This time the focus is on a woman (Oscar winner Charlize Theron, "Monster"), rather than a teen. An abused single mother, with two kids, moves back in with her parents and is desperate to get a job.
