This film premiered in Chicago at the 2006 Chicago International Film Festival This cautionary tale takes place along the seedy, nocturnal streets of Bangkok, where lonely Sombati drives the overnight shift. He barely communicates with his passengers, ferrying them from point to point, and listening to an all-night oldies radio station. He writes lengthy and revealing fan letters to his favorite DJ, who never responds, not even with an on-air thank you to Sombati. Sombati’s world changes drastically when he becomes the regular driver for Nual, a dance club hostess. He picks her up each night after the club closes and they begin to share a late meal together. He fantasizes about their relationship as they talk of aspirations. She wants to own a wedding shop. He gets involved in a get rich quick scheme with some guys from work, which turns out to be a scam. The film is quite confusing, not well acted nor much of a story. It could have (should have) ended much sooner. There were at least two times that it could have ended prior to when the final credits did roll. Not recommended.
