Bank One Signs on as Title Sponsor of
Chicago International Film Festival

- Sponsorship to bring high profile filmmakers to Festival.
- Bank One customers to receive special ticket discount.

CHICAGO, IL - May 10, 2004 - Bank One will serve as Title Sponsor of the 40th Chicago International Film Festival, Cinema/Chicago announced today.

The annual Festival, presented by Cinema/Chicago, will take place Oct. 7-21 and showcase more than 90 feature films and 40 shorts from 40 countries. Last year's Festival drew more than 50,000 visitors and planners expect Bank One's involvement to attract a greater attendance this year.

"Bank One's support ensures that the Festival will continue to build audiences and allows the organization to develop new and exciting programs to support our mission," said Daniel P. Coffey, Chairman of the Festival's Governing Board of Directors and Fellow, American Institute of Architects. "We are extremely grateful for this partnership and for the opportunity to be aligned with the excellent work of this prominent financial institution."

Bank One's commitment has allowed the development of a unique program designed to highlight the Festival's tradition of discovery. The program, called Four Decades of Discovery, invites noted filmmakers who premiered in the festival to return to Chicago for special screenings and discussions of their prominent films. Filmmakers invited to participate include: Martin Scorsese (USA), Liv Ullmann (Sweden), Patrice Chereau (France), Theo Angelopoulos (Greece) and Mike Leigh (UK).

In addition, Bank One's investment has led the Festival to convene a film industry leadership panel to discuss the business of acquiring and marketing specialty films, as well as, outline "what it takes" to get independent, foreign films and documentaries into today's U.S. market. The panel discussion will be open to regional filmmakers and festival attendees.

"This truly is a dream come true for the organization," said Michael Kutza, Festival Founder and Artistic Director. "Our Governing Board and staff have worked very hard to build exciting year-round programs to warrant this support, and we are extremely proud to have this assistance as we celebrate our 40th Anniversary and look forward to the future."

In addition to direct support of the Festival, the Bank One sponsorship will include:

- support of the Summer Gala in July, which kicks off the Festival and introduces many of the directors and celebrities that will define the fall event;

- promotion of the festival and film schedule through posters and flyers at more than 230 Chicagoland branches;

- special promotions including a 20% discount on single tickets that will be offered to Bank One customers.

An announcement of the complete schedule of films, including special celebrity appearances, guests, panel discussions and award presentations, will be released in mid-September, 2004. For more information about the 40th Chicago International Film Festival, go to www.chicagofilmfestival.com.
