Buttermaker (Billy Bob Thornton of "Bad Santa") is the grouchy coach of the little league Bears, who tries to turn his team of misfits into champs. Buttermaker is a former pro baseball player that was ejected from the game for attacking an umpire. He now works as a lowly exterminator. More interested in wine and women than baseball, he is lured back into the game by Marcia Gay Harden, a lawyer who has filed suit to force the league to accept all players, regardless of their skill level. As the new coach of the team with the record for losing the most games in Little League history, Buttermaker has an uphill battle to turn the team around. At first, he's only in it for the money but he and his oddball players have a life changing effect on one another. Also stars Greg Kinnear.
