One of the latest trends in "B" movies has been to make a sequel to a Hollywood big budget film and produce a sequel with unknowns in the starring roles.  The benefit to the producer is the ability to ride the coattails of familiar names without having to pay tens of millions of dollars to stars like Jim Carey.  In the sequel to "Dumb and Dumber" Jim Carey and Jeff Daniels are replaced by two unknowns who are made to look and act like the original clowns from the first film.  The movie falls flat not so much because of the original stars absence but because of inept directing and slapdash editing. Even the presence of a supporting cast including the likes of Eugene Levy and the usually hysterical Brian Posehn of televisions "Just Shoot Me" aren't enough to save this film.  And what happened to SNL alumni Cheri O'Teri?  Didn't she used to be funny? In "Dumb and Dumberer" she rehashes bits and pieces of her SNL characters in a way that seems to make no sense at all.  Also thrown into the mix are bland performances by Mimi Rogers and Bob Saget.

The plot is carried out so poorly that there was at least one occasion where my friend Aldo and I were scratching our heads unable to follow the storyline.  There were a few scattered funny lines.  Like when Harry informs Loyd that "Chicks are for fags."  But it was only amusing the first time they said it.  The thing that amazed me about the film was that it was only 1 hour and 22 minutes long and yet it seemed to drag on forever. At the end of the film it's that time you're going to want back even more than the money that you paid for this film.
