So funny, you're ashamed to laugh!!

Bottom Line: Oh my mommakah, its time for Hanukah! Adam Sandler, who was never that much to look at, might have found a way to stay in the public eye when he starts to look even worse. This time he animates his brand of animated humor. To the best of my recollection I've never seen a holiday movie that dealt with both Christmas & Hanukah. I know for a fact I never did as a kid. Like everyone else, I just watched those claymation "Frosty the Snowman" & "Rudolph the Red Noised Reindeer" shows on WGN. But I know there was nothing about the festival of lights, so from that perspective this Sandler movie is kind of ground breaking. It's also pretty groundbreaking stuff because I haven't heard that kind of language in an animated movie since the directors cut of "South Park: Bigger, Longer, Uncut"!
Story Line: Sandler does a few voices in this movie, but the main one is the voice of Davey, the town jerk. He is a person who is upset with the world ¾ himself included ¾ & is determined to make other people as miserable as he is, especially during the holidays!
After his latest inebriated legal infraction Davey stands before a judge & just before the judge levies a heavy sentence on him, in limps Whitey. Whitey is the 69 year-old loveable "little-big man." Whitey stands about four-feet tall & has one foot that's an adult size 11 & another that's a child size 9, has an imaginary wife & is prone to seizures. Whitey has been refereeing the town's youth basketball team for 30 years, & is probably the only person in town who sees anything redeeming in Davey. The judge releases Davey to Whitey's care, with the warning that one more screw up & Davey is off for a minimum 10-year stretch.
What follows is (to me) a hilarious series of songs, insults, & even a few revelations on Davey's part.
Tell Me More: A word of warning for any parent who automatically sees animation & thinks "family film," let me tell you, this ain't "Shrek"!! Sandler's brand of humor is stamped all over this one; everything from flatulence to drunkenness, four-letter words to cruel insults. Now for me, a 28-year-old, that's nothing; but for some 8-year-old, it may be a bit much. I'm guessing that the lead character's (voiced by Sandler) change of heart could be the only thing that got this movie a PG-13 rating instead of R, because it's the closest thing to being redeeming that this movie has to offer. For those of you out there, like me, who have enough bran in their diet not to be easily offended by fart jokes, "bad words" & insult comedy…in other words Adam Sandler fans, this is a good movie to see. This movie will not convert many Sandler haters into fans.
Rated PG-13 for frequent crude and sexual humor, drinking and brief drug references.
