There is only one Jackie Chan

Jackie Chan: Eddie Yang
Claire Forlani: Nicole James
Julian Sands: Snakehead
Lee Evans: Arthur Watson
Directed by Gordon Chan

Bottom Line:
Jackie is back, playing a Hong Kong detective who gets killed on a case & brought back to life by an ancient medallion & endowed with superhuman powers.

Story Line:
Eddie Yang (Jackie Chan) is determined to stop an English gangster called Snakehead (Julian Sands) from stealing a magical medallion that would give him eternal life & serious powers. It's the same medallion that brought Eddie back to life after he lost it trying to save the life of the young boy whose life's mission was to protect the medallion.  Jackie is reunited with a former flame, Nicole, played well by Claire Forlani, & backed up by the entertaining, constantly bungling, Arthur Watson, played by Lee Evans (who turns in his customary hilarious performance). That's about it, nothing too complicated going on here.  Just a well done Jackie Chan film.
Tell Me More:
Next April, Jackie Chan will turn 50 years old.  I'm going to say that again.  Next April, Jackie Chan will turn FIFTY, 5-O, years old.  In a lot of respects 50 isn't old, but no matter how you look at it, 50 ain't

young, & to do what Jackie does (& has been doing all of my life & a little bit more) is nothing short of amazing. These days Jackie has the aid of better technology, CGI's & "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" quality wires to help him fly through the air with the greatest of ease, but what he does is still nothing short of amazing-at any age! We are talking about a man who has broken just about every bone in his body, including his skull, & he still proceeds to perform most of his own death defying stunts. I can't think of any action hero that has ever kept up his craft as well.

On top of all that, Jackie's style of movie making is one part action, one part vaudeville & all heart.  None of his violence is gratuitous, you rarely, if ever, see him with a gun in his hand. And while he is literally in better shape than men half his age, you won't find him needlessly ripping off his clothes to show-off his lean physique.  Although it's obvious that I'm a fan, let me go on record as saying he has produced some stinkers in the past, but this isn't one of them.  If you like Jackie, you will love this movie.  If you don't you still just might enjoy yourself.

Rated PG-13 for action violence and some sexual humor.
