30 Second Bottom Line: A loving young wife struggles with the reality of losing her husband who lies near death in a hospital.
Story Line: As her husband is on life support, it's clear to her mother that the end is near and that her daughter must find a way to deal with her pain and move on. The young child of the marriage is in a mental state of suspended animation while the mother is in denial.
She has visions of the past that leads to them being together in the present. This very spiritual and in some ways religious film that is not "in your face", addresses how we deal with unimaginable pain and loss.
Tell Me More About It: This 12 minute film captures the essence of how one feels when a loved one slips to the point of no return from the person that you know. In the film Magnolia, Jason Robards is an old man who is in great pain. To manage it at some point will require a dose of morphine that will permanently change his mental alertness for the remainder of short time he will be alive. Here, the man who is ill is not able to direct his medical treatment. Since the loved ones must make all of the tough decisions, the term "closure" takes on multiple meanings that will shape one for the rest of their lives.
