Energetic road movie whose path takes a 20-year-old student and the teacher she has a secret crush on from Paris to South America, Montana and New York City, and paths along the way. However, they are not traveling together. When Anouk (Islid Le Besco) follows Laurel (Emmanuel Faventines) on the bus while he runs along the streets, she makes it to the airport just in time to see him get on the next flight leaving for anyplace to get away from her fast.
He lands in Brazil, where he soon is relieved of his money and begins to make his way back to France, via North America and New York City. He obtains some rollerblades, on which he breezes away while we share his exhilaration of unfettered freedom.
He carries on northward, making a little money where he can in order to continue and having a basically good time.
Meanwhile back in Paris, Anouk goes to visit his mother to ask after him and sullenly goes back to work delivering pizzas with her friend. One day she gets a cash payment for a very large pizza order and impulsively takes off for the airport to follow the carefree path Laurel has taken. Laurel has returned to France and Anouk toys with him by sending anonymous videos of the places he has just been and has some adventures of her own.
A light but very realistic ode to spontaneity and what it really is like for both characters to indulge in the fantasy of playing out the whimsy of the moment.
